At Appwrite we're looking for a Community Support Engineer (EMEA) to join our team

Full-time · Remote

About the job

Appwrite is looking to bring on an experienced support engineer. You will be the first hire of the support team and will be in the Developer Relations (DevRel) department. You‘ll be responsible for answering community/support questions on various platforms - support tickets, Discord, GitHub issues, GitHub discussions, Reddit, and more. You will work primarily with the DevRel team on a daily basis and will also collaborate with our engineering team as needed.

If you have a strong interest in teaching, analyzing, and solving problems and enjoy being part of an open-source community, able to work with a fast-moving, fast-growing startup, and love being part of a fun, happy, vibrant organization that all enjoy working together, this will be a great place for you!

Responsibilities

  • Engage and answer questions within the Appwrite community (GitHub discussions, Discord community, Reddit, Twitter, and any related channels of developer questions etc)

  • Triaging all support tickets via providing resources to questions, providing code examples, or escalating to the engineering team if needed

  • Collaborate with the DevRel team and Engineering teams. (Example: Relay developer feedback to DevRel team)

  • Troubleshoot and research developers questions and help create solutions for their requirements

  • Create and maintain support articles and common questions and solutions in a Knowledge Base

  • Willing to go above and beyond when supporting our developers. (We prefer to call them developers and not customers)

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with customer-facing technical support and technical troubleshooting
  • Experience working with multiple JavaScript frameworks (Angular, Vue, Svelte, React) and client development platforms (Flutter, iOS, Android, etc)

  • Knowledge of Docker
  • You are great at troubleshooting and finding solutions
  • Great communication skills, including patience, to work with developers that are in different cultures around the world

Bonus but not required

  • Bonus: You speak multiple languages
