Developer Advocate (EU Region)

Appwrite is looking for a Developer Advocate who loves to educate and engage with developers, and has a passion for open source communities. You’ll work closely with the developer relations team, which currently consists of 6 people that are located in different parts of the world. Responsibilities

Communities: Attend, speak at, and sponsor in-person and/or virtual events at various developer communities
Advocate: While still representing as a thought leader in different communities, you will still advocate for Appwrite’s community internally, and promote Appwrite externally
Content: Create and deliver engaging content, such as, but not limited to, blog posts, technical content, presentations, live streams, etc.
DevRel: Attend (or speak) at DevRel events to learn the latest trends and best practices in Developer Relations. Be a thought leader in the #DevRel space
Content: Create fun and engaging content for various social media platforms. Whether it’s writing, video creation and technical or soft skills to educate developers
Community: Actively engaging with developers on various social media platforms (ie: Twitter, Discord, GitHub Discussions, Reddit, StackOverflow, etc)

Requirements

Experience with Open-Source communities and projects
Some experience in at least two programming languages or frameworks (JS, TS, PHP, Python, Ruby, Dart, Kotlin, Swift…)
2+ years experience as a Developer Advocate, or similar activities
Understanding of REST APIs and opinions of “good” and “bad” implementations
You love to teach developers how to build cool stuff
Demonstrate a track record of creating engaging developer content (such as, but not limited to videos, blog posts, social media posts, etc)
Ability to work with a diverse company (and team) located globally, working across different time zones
Company gatherings twice a year. Team gatherings once a year

Bonus but not required

Travel up to 25% for DevRel activities, but not required
Experience creating short videos specifically for developers via YouTube shorts/TikTok
Contributing/Maintained open source projects currently or in the past
Experience with Flutter
